Cisco and It's Borderless Networks Router-Based Web Filtering

The new router CRS3 which promises to deliver video and cloud based access points that Cisco released last week, (see Yahoo Finance Tech Ticker) it turns out, may have represented only half of the company's promise to "forever change the Internet with its "Borderless Networks" strategy.

Comprehensive network security is extremely important in deploying home based workers. Cisco is leading the way with Router-Based Web Filtering: Value-Added Security Services.
"For many businesses, Internet surfing is a critical part of conducting business to meet their organizational goals. However, unrestricted Internet usage opens up many risks such as inappropriate use of company resources, exposure to legal liability, and productivity losses. A sizeable number of employees access shopping, gambling, pornography, and auction Websites during work hours, causing unnecessary use of corporate bandwidth. This compels organizations to block access to various Websites, or to restrict access to only Websites that are needed for day-to-day functions."

Keep this in mind in when setting up home-based workers and protect your firm from other possible liability.
